Tahoe Swag is a broad collection of imagery based on my love for Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains. Ranging from singular designs of outdoor adventure at Lake Tahoe to detailed infographics of Sierra Nevada flora/fauna, Tahoe Swag is both informational and inspirational. That website is an online marketplace designed for independent artists, such as myself, to sell our art on merchandise such as shirts, mugs, posters, and cards. Tahoe Swag Backstory
Tahoe Swag represents an approach to creating art that is more in-line with who I am. I used to be obsessed with creating traditional fine art, such as canvas paintings and watercolors. However, my desire never manifested to the point in which I wanted to master painting from a technical standpoint. I’ve always sought to combine seemingly disconnected elements to make something new and unique. This is evident in my relationships, the jobs I’ve had, and my interests. With regard to art, I want to use every tool in my arsenal, so I’ve embraced the combination of analog and digital techniques and elements.
Whether it’s obvious or not, the central theme to my art has always been self-discovery through meaningful exploration. Tahoe Swag is an extension of this theme, but it’s presented in a more tangible format than what I’ve created before because it’s grounded in reality. Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains are my primary subject matter, but inherent within the imagery I create is my sense of wonder, learning, and adventure.
