During the last few years I swapped out my tubes of paint for an inkwell. There are a handful of factors that contributed to this shift from canvas to pen & ink on paper, but most notably is the ease in which I can transfer an analog piece of art to the computer via a scanner. Cleanup is a snap, too!
Although I feel slightly guilty about no longer working with other traditional fine art mediums anymore, the options for using my artwork have increased exponentially as a result of making the transition. When all I’m dealing with is black ink on white paper it’s easy to scan the piece into the computer and then make corrections and add digital embellishments through the use of programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator. I have not fully embraced digital coloring and painting, but I do have a number of digitally colored pieces available in print and poster format at RedBubble.
