March 2017

What a winter we’ve been having in Tahoe! Snowfalls of over 600+ inches at most ski resorts, with Mount Rose reporting nearly 700 inches. Glad I took up cross-country skiing last winter, because otherwise there might have been a real-life sequel to The Shining at my house! Needless to say I’ve already xc skied 63 times, so now I’m shooting for 75 days.

Other than working at a cross-country ski center in Truckee, CA, and xc skiing lots, I’ve been designing and building a handful of niche websites. The goal I’m trying to accomplish is to decentralize my personal site and create unique websites that specifically address the various aspects of my life. My spheres of influence or expertise, if you will. I felt like keeping everything I do under one roof (one domain) made for a bloated website that was confusing to navigate. That said, please note that my email and personal site may be down for periods of time toward the end of March and into April as a result of this process. Here are my new sites in various stages of construction. Check them out when you have the time:

  • Tahoe Trail Guide (outdoor blog that I’ve been devoting most of my time to building)
  • Wilderness Activity Books (where you can buy my Tahoe Rim Trail coloring book)
  • Monfils Case (site for information re: wrongfully convicted men, my mom’s been working on this case for years)
  • Warrior Poet Initiative (martial arts blog, which currently features only one article as I haven’t had time to upload anymore content yet)

In addition to the new sites, I’ve been building a stronger social media presence to help with the promotion of my blogs and other art projects (such as the coloring book). I don’t believe you actually need to have accounts to view the last four social media sites, so check them out for up-to-date info on all of my endeavors. The main sites I’ve been active on are:

My latest art creation is a faux vintage map of the Lake Tahoe region for use on my Tahoe Trail Guide website. I wanted to develop a unique style of map for use on that site, so this was the result. You can order a print or poster of it at my RedBubble account.

Thanks for being a part of my life. Until next time…
